12/28/07 - Triple Fatal Collision on Rt 15


Reported multiple entrapments. A209 and M20 Arrived on scene and confirmed dispatch. A149 and RS14 arrived shortly after. Crews from 14 and 20 went to work assessing the scene. C14-2 established Rt 15 command. Crews confirmed 3 Pri. 4 Patients. Trooper 3 was utilized to search around the scene for possible additional pts. Crews from co 14 and 20 remained on the scene for several hours while the investigation continued and completed extrication. Thanks to everyone that assisted with this tragic accident.

11/17/07 - House fire on Pleasant View Rd

In the evening on 11/17 Co.s 14, 28, 20, LC 10 , and 23 were alerted for a house fire on Pleasant View Rd. Initial reports were that the fire place and living room were on fire. Chief 14 arrived with fire showing from the Delta side and requested a tanker task force. All occupants were verified to be out of the structure and the fire was knocked quickly by the first crews. Their quick and efficient action kept the damage to a minimum.  Units cleared after extensive overhaul operations.

9/25/07 - House fire near Elmer Derr Rd and Ballenger Creek Pike

Box 31-07 was struck for the house fire near Elmer Derr Rd and Ballenger Creek Pike. The first arriving units reported fire and smoke in the area with confirmation of a dumpster on fire and part of a house under construction involved. Within moments the house was fully involved and  the attack was under way. The fire was quickly knocked in the dumpster and the house.

8/10/07 - Head on Collision on Rt 28

At 5:50 am on Friday, August 10th, Companies 14, 28, Trooper 3, and Montgomery County Medic 149 were alerted for a head on collision at Rt 28 and Rt 85. Chief 14 arrived and established command while the crew of Rescue Squad 14 began extrication work on the patients. One patient was flown to a local trauma center and another patient was transported to a local trauma center by Ambulance 289.

7/24/07 - Vehicle Accident With Entrapment on Rt 85

On Tuesday afternoon July 24th 2007, Units were alerted for a vehicle accident with entrapment on Buckeystown Pike in the area of Fingerboard Road. While enroute communications advised they had reports of a car into a pole with one trapped, and thought the correct location was going to be in front of the Maynes Farm Produce Stand.

7/28/07 - Vehicle Rollover with entrapment on Manor Woods Rd

At approximately 4:45 Pm on Saturday July 28th co 14 units were dispatched for a vehicle rollover with one trapped and unconscious on Manor Woods rd near the railroad tracks. Additional information was obtained and an EMS task force was dispatched for multiple patients. Chief 14 arrived on scene and established command. Aviation was requested for the trapped driver as the 4 children from the vehicle were treated in Ambulances 289 and 149.

7/13/07 - Building Materials Fire at Carroll Manor Elementary

At about 5:30 pm Lt. Smallwood alerted Frederick to a fire behind Carroll Manor Elementary school. Two engine companies were requested to extinguish what appeared to be stacks of roofing materials. The fire had spread to two large stacks of ceiling tiles and was threatening a third stack.  Engine 201 from Jefferson and 503 from Ft. Detrick were called in to assist as well as Air/Light 4 from Citizens Truck Co..

7/12/07 - Field Fire on Manor Woods Rd
At 1:39pm on 7/12/07 Co. 14 was called to 6601 Manor Woods Rd. for a reported field on fire. B145 was in the area with heavy smoke visible. When B145 arrived on scene they found approximately an acre and half well off with a pile of wood burning as well. ET143 established water supply and handled the fire in the large pile of wood. C-14-2 Had command and requested a 2nd brush truck. Frederick alerted B235 and with their help the fire was knocked in less than an hour.

7/5/07 - House fire on Chick Rd
At 3:30am Companies 14, 28, 20, and MC 14 were alerted for a house fire on Chick Road between Tuscarora Rd and Noland's Ferry Rd. Chief 14 arrived on scene to find heavy fire from the first and second floors. The house was empty with the exception of some animals. A tanker task force was requested and the fire eventually reached three alarms before being brought under control. Unfortunately, one firefighter was injured and some animals were lost in the blaze.

6/7/07 - Fire at Canam Steel in Point of Rocks


At 9am the call came in for a building fire at Canam Steel in Point of Rocks. Command was established and a second alarm requested. Chief 14 assumed command and the fire inside was quickly extinguished and work began on the roof fire and overhaul operations. Chief 14 and te entire CMFC family wishes to extend  thanks to everyone that helped out. It was a very hot day and numerous crews were rotated in and out and back in to assist with operations.

5/30/07 - Vehicle Fire Adjacent to a House on Basford Rd

     Company 20 was dispatched for a car fire. While Co. 20 was enroute to the call ECC added 14 to the call due to the car involved being only 10 feet from the house. Quint 14 , E/T 143 along with Chief 14-3 responded. Just prior arrival of C-20. ECC advised of a 2nd car involved. Q-14 arrived and assisted Co. 20 units with overhaul. Co. 14's Crews helped Co. 20 units with mop up and returned shortly after.

5/27/07 - Single vehicle accident on Rt 28 near New Design Rd


     At 7am on May 27, 2007 company 14 units were dispatched for a single vehicle accident on Rt 28 near New Design Rd. Rescue Engine 141, Ambulance 149 and Chief 14-3 responded. Luckily no one was injured and units were clear on a patient refusal.

5/10/07 - Vehicle Accident Rt 15 and Mountville
     On The morning of May 10th company 14 and 20 units were alerted for a 2 vehicle accident at Rt. 15 and Mountville Road. One Patient was extricated from their vehicle and transported to Frederick Memorial Hospital by Ambulance 209.

5/7/07 - Brush fire with wires down on Manor Woods Rd


     On May 7, 2007 at 3:35 pm company 14 units were dispatched for brush fire along the roadway at the Christmas Tree Farm on Manor Woods Road with wires down. The grass fire was caused by downed power lines that were pulled down by a railroad vehicle. The fire was extinguished once Allegheny Power verified that it was safe to do so. Company 14 units were able to ensure that it did not spread into the pine trees.

4/30/07 - Vehicle collision on Lilypons Rd
     Stations 14, 23, 28 and Montgomery County 14 were alerted for a vehicle accident with entrapment and multiple patients on Monday afternoon, April 30th. Quint 14 and Ambulance 149 arrived on scene to find 3 patients in one vehicle and 1 priority 4 patient in the second vehicle. Aviation was requested and three patients were transferred to local hospitals. Units stayed on scene to assist the police in their investigation and began clearing at 9:30 pm.

4/23/07 - Vehicle Rollover at Rt 85 and Oland Rd
     On Monday April 23rd 2007, Company 14 units were alerted for an MVA with entrapment on Buckeystown Pike at Oland Road. First arriving A148 went on scene with a single vehicle on its top with one trapped. Upon the arrival of Rescue Engine 141 the crew went to work stabilizing the car and forcing the door to make access to the patient. The patient was removed and taken priority 3 to FMH. Units began clearing within the half hour.

4/22/07 - Electrical Fire in Buckingham's Choice
     On Sunday April 22nd 2007, Company 14 and 28 were dispatched for a house fire at Buckingham's Choice. Dispatch updated the units en route with the information that there was a external electrical panel on fire. Chief 14-2 arrived and established command. The houses were evacuated and the house checked for extension while awaiting Allegheny Power. Units went back in service within an hour and a half.

4/7/07 - House fire on Old Boss Arnold Rd
     On the morning of April 7th, 2007 companies 14 and 28 were alerted for box 5-03 for a house on fire. The first arriving units reported heavy smoke in the area. Rescue engine 51 made an initial attack but had to retreat due to conditions. Command was established and an external defensive attack was begun. Engine 281, engine tanker 284, engine tanker 143, Quint 14, Duty 14, and Canteen 14 all responded.

3/24/07 - Auto Accident with Entrapment on Rt 80 near 85


     On April 2nd Company 14, Trooper 3, and Medic 23 were alerted for an auto accident with entrapment on Rt 80 near rt 85.  Chief 14-2 arrived on scene and reported one patient pinned with partial hand amputation. Command was established and rescue Squad  14 got to work extricating the patient. Engine Tanker 143 established the landing zone for Trooper 3 and the patient was freed in few minutes. The patient was transported to Shock Trauma in Baltimore by trooper 3 and Company 14 units cleared the scene.

3/24/07 - Motorcycle and Van collision on Route 80


     Station 14 was alerted for a motorcycle accident on the afternoon of March 24, 2007. Chief 14 arrived on scene to find that a motorcycle had collided with a van. Chief 14 established Rt 80 command and requested aviation for the injured motorcycle rider.

3/8/07 - Property Damage Accident on Ballenger Creek Pike


     On Thursday March 8th Company 14 responded to this property damage accident on Ballenger Creek Pike at Woodwinds Circle. No one was injured.

2/25/07 - Rollover on Rt. 85 at Lilypons
     On Sunday, February 25th Co. 14 was alerted for a vehicle rollover on Rt. 85 at Lilypons Rd. Rescue Squad 14 and Ambulance 149 responded to find a vehicle in a field. The occupant was transported priority three to Frederick Memorial Hospital by ambulance 149.  This was the third rollover in three days for Co.'s 14 and 28, and thankfully no one was seriously injured in any of them.
   

 
 

 

1/25/07 - Old Waterford School
    Loudoun County Fire-Rescue services received a call about the fire at the old school  about 6:35 a.m., spokeswoman Mary Maguire said. Units from the Loudoun County Fire and Emergency Management responded along with crews from surrounding areas including the Carroll Manor fire company.
   
E-281 from Carroll Manor responded with A/C Andy Arnold as Officer. Quint 14 was transferred to Loudon County Station 2 while Engine Tanker 143 was transferred to Lucketts.

1/9/07 - Vehicle Accident on Tuscarora Rd

    Units from station 28, 14 and Loudon county station 10 responded to a vehicle on its side on Tuscarora Rd. One occupant was trapped in the vehicle. The crews from Rescue Squad 14 and Loudon County Rescue Engine 10 took care of removing the roof and assisted in the extrication. Ambulance 289 transported the patient to Frederick Memorial Hospital, priority two.
